Members of RAF Marham’s AC (II) Squadron took preparations for their forthcoming tour of duty as they launched their latest fundraising initiative.

The famous Shiny Two squadron, which is set to be relocated to RAF Lossiemouth in 2015, is all set to begin its final deployment to Afghanistan early in the New Year.

And, during their time off-duty, servicemen and women plan to row, cycle, run or cross train a total of 102,000 kilometres – 1,000 kilometres for each of the squadron’s 102 years of operations.

Tbe challenge, which will raise funds for the Royal Air Forces’ Association (RAFA) and the Swaffham and Litcham Home Hospice was launched at the Tesco store on Lynn’s Hardwick estate.

Members of the squadron began the challenge on exercise bikes, as well as packing bags for shoppers.
