The wife of a Corporal based at RAF Marham is taking fundraising to new heights as she takes on a 13,000ft skydive to raise funds for national armed forces charity, SSAFA.

Husband Justin Trathan surprised his wife, Sam, with the opportunity to take part in the jump at Beccles on September 14, after she was disappointed when a previous skydive fell through.

Sam said: “I had wanted to do it for a while, my brother did one and it looked amazing, although it’s going to take a lot to get me up there on the day as I’m not that good with flying. I’m a bit nervous but it’s something to tick off my list and I wanted to do something to say thanks to SSAFA, they’ve really helped me and it’s a really worthwhile cause.”

Sam is hoping to raise around £500, and has already had £165 in donations. Go to www.justgiving.com/samtrathanskydive to sponsor her.
