A team of dedicated volunteers have been awarded the Royal British Legion’s prestigious Coltishall Cup for their hard work in restoring a Dersingham war memorial.

Kurtis Ross-Green, 20, pictured holding the cup, John Houston and Valerie Brundle, pictured holding a letter from a lady-in-waiting to the Queen, were presented with the award for Best Kept War Memorial at the charity’s annual Norfolk conference.

Valerie said: “I don’t know who put us in for it but it’s a feather in our cap. I think it’s jolly good that we’ve won it.”

The Royal British Legion’s Kate Williams said: “Young Kurtis put in so much effort to ensure the memorial is a fitting tribute to The Fallen.”
