Courses designed to help community workers recognise the signs of mental illness will be held in Lynn and Downham later this month.

The Mental Health First Aid programmes, which are run by Norfolk County Council’s Healthy Communities team, will take place at the North Lynn Community Centre on September 15 and 16 and the Assembly room of Downham’s town hall on September 23 and 24.

A further course is also set to be held at the Hunstanton fire station on October 16 and 17.

The programme is designed to help people see the signs and symptoms of common mental health issues, provide help on a first aid basis and guide patients towards support services.

Places on the course are free for people working in the community as volunteers, or £100 for other participants.

For more information, or to book a place, phone 07717 881817 or 07827 282430.
