Youngsters and their families had fun putting together pyramid-shaped ziggurat sandwiches, using cheese or jam, during a messy church session run by Downham Methodist Church. A number of craft activities around the theme of “God’s family, our family” were arranged at the session on Friday. Other activities included making a family card, drawing pictures of transport vehicles as well as star mobiles and the group enjoyed a story before sharing a light meal of pizza and beans followed by mousse.
Hazel Miles, one of the organisers, said: “We had an extremely good response. We had people queuing to get in before we opened.” Further sessions will run between 4.30pm and 6.30pm on July 18, August 15 and September 12.
