A mother has lodged a complaint with the Scouts over the running of an event attended by Chief Scout Bear Grylls at the weekend.
Rosalind Baillie has made an official complaint to Norfolk’s County Commissioner over a mix-up with the collection times from the event held at Wolferton on Saturday.
Miss Baillie had arrived at the camp at 4.30pm to pick up her sons Max, nine, and Sam, eight, who were attending the event with Dersingham Cubs.
But she was told by a man on the gate that they would not be available until 5.30pm.
Miss Baillie says she had received a letter stating 4.30pm collection time but admitted receiving a second one which stated the collection time was 5.30pm. She said other parents were also waiting.
She said the man did not have a radio and would not help her to retrieve her children. Miss Baillie, of Harpley, was able to pick up her children after spotting a member of the team she knew.
She has now made a complaint on the grounds that no-one offered a solution to help collect her children, the lack of radios and the response to her complaint.
She said: “The commissioner is coming to see us.”
District commission Kim Smith has declined to comment.
