Shakespeare’s masquerade romantic comedy, Much Ado About Nothing, is being staged by the Chapterhouse Theatre Company at Walsingham Abbey next Thursday, August 21.
Chapterhouse has a long tradition in bringing Shakespeare’s productions to life in their open-air theatre tours and you can join them for an evening of true Shakespearian merriment.
As the incomparable Beatrice and her begrudging match Benedick are tricked into confessing their love for each other, hilarious and heart-stoppingly romantic consequences ensue. Complete with jealous schemes and a whole host of delightfully cheeky characters, this light-hearted love story is sure to entertain and enthral.
Director Rebecca Gadsby said: “I’m going for a trend at the moment: sexy sword men, strong female characters and idyllic beautiful romance with darker moments. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Gadsby production if it didn’t also have plenty of silly comedy.”
Tickets are £14 adult, £10 student or child, £42 for family (two adults and two children) and a 10pc discount for parties of 10 or more; you are advised to take rugs or low-backed seating.
