A charity car wash raised £260 for The Brain Tumour Charity, held in memory of Barney Flanagan who died from a brain tumour earlier this year aged 29.
The ‘Mankini and Bikini Car Wash’ was organised by David Yallop, part of Barney’s Angels, who had been a good friend of Barney’s and wanted to do something to help brain cancer research. Although not yet a registered charity, the Barney’s Angels group is working hard to raise money to help promote brain cancer research.
Sara Anderson, a friend of Barney’s family, said: “The support so far has been amazing. We have two more events lined up for September including a fun day which we hope will be a massive success. We’d really like to be able to hold a fun day every year in Barney’s memory, to help raise more money for brain cancer research.”
