Tales of the pubs and taverns of Swaffham are set to be brought to life in a new project which will be launched next month.
Members of the town’s history group have been working on the programme, which they say is the first detailed history of the town’s past and present watering holes.
The first series of eight booklets will be published on November 14. It is hoped a second series will follow early next year.
The first book, which is priced £3.50, is on the George Hotel in Station Street.
Other titles will feature other pubs which are still trading today, including the King’s Arms and the Greyhound, as well as former venues including the former Temperence Hotel, which is now Pedlars cafe.
Anyone who would like more information about the books can contact the group on 01760 724470. Copies of the books can also be reserved by emailing email@example.com or EM_JA@hotmail.co.uk.
