A West Norfolk theatre group has relocated to a new North Lynn home – just in time for the final rehearsals before their summer Variety Show later this month.
The Lavender Hill Mob Theatre Company is an inclusive group that offers anyone, regardless of age or ability, the chance to join in all aspects of musical theatre and put on professional level performances.
Such a large group requires an equally large performance space and directors Les Miles and Tim Rock have struggled to find a space suitable for the group which has all the facilities they require, such as disabled toilets, lifts and parking.
Les Miles said: “Finding the right rehearsal venue for a group that ranges in age from four-years-old to 104 is an ever increasing headache for me and Tim.
“Especially now the group continues to expand and move from strength to strength.”
She added: “Appropriately, the solution to the headache has come in the form of a Health Centre – St. Augustine’s Centre, in Columbia Way.
“With all the facilities and fantastic space the centre has to offer, the group were delighted to move in and meetings are now held three nights a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 5pm-8pm.
“Everyone is welcome and much to our delight, we can now accommodate most people’s needs.”
The theatre company are now rehearsing for their Variety Show, which will take to the Corn Exchange stage from August 31 for three performances.
There will be evening performances from 7.30pm on August 31 and September 1, with one matinee performance at 2.30pm on Sunday, September 1.
Tickets are available from the Corn Exchange box office on 01553 764864 or at www.kingslynncornexchange.co.uk
