Hunstanton’s refurbished Spinney will be officially opened with its first community event next weekend.
Live music, drama, a fancy dress competition and a treasure hunt will be among the attractions during the event on Saturday April 26, between noon and 4pm.
Borough mayor Elizabeth Watson and town mayor Elaine Clutton will formally open the new-look space, which includes a new performance area, at 2pm.
Michael Ruston, secretary of the resort’s chamber of trade, said: “This is, what we hope will be, the first of many events to be staged in this location, which will help encourage people up into the town centre.
“We are looking forward to welcoming people to the area on the day.”
Alistair Beales, West Norfolk Council’s cabinet member for regeneration, urged people to use the space, adding: “I think that once performances and activities start to take place, this area will go from strength to strength.”
