Senior coroner for Norfolk, Jaqueline Lake, has released a statement relating to the Cley Marshes helicopter crash.
“Following the tragic deaths of the four personnel who died in a helicopter crash in North Norfolk on 7th January 2014 within my coroner area, as required by law I have notified the Lord Chancellor of the details of the deaths as I know them.
“I am satisfied that deceased all had a “relevant association with a visiting force”, namely that of the United States of America.
“As a result in the absence of a direction by the Lord Chancellor, I am required by law not to begin a coroner investigation into their deaths.”
She added: “I wish to offer my sympathy to the families, friends and colleagues of the four service personnel who died.”
