This weekend sees the culmination of the Oktoberfest Beer Festival at the Wash and Tope pub in Hunstanton with live bands and a hog roast.
Among the 40 beers on sale is a beer made by the Hadrian and Border Brewing Company, a nostalgic moment for managers Janine McCullen and Jamie Wilcock, having sold their beers at their first pub, the Leaping Salmon in Berwick-upon-Tweed 15 years ago.
They have spent the past year or so transforming the Wash and Tope into a family pub and welcoming well-behaved dogs.
Jamie said: “I’m really pleased with the interest in the Oktoberfest so far. There are beer check sheets and tasting notes, and free T-shirts for those who taste 30 or more beers during the week. We hope this will be an annual event bringing people into Hunstanton and extending the holiday season.”
