The Caley Hall Hotel in Old Hunstanton is to partner Macmillan Cancer Support Norfolk for the next 12 months and is hoping to raise £5,000 with events, including a pamper evening and a winter ball.
Macmillan statistics indicate that, every day, 14 people in Norfolk are given the news that they have cancer and there are seven deaths a day in the area from the illness.
Georgina Daniels, Macmillan regional fundraising manager for Norfolk, said: “Everyone at Macmillan is delighted. The resources that go into funding Macmillan projects are substantial; and it really is impossible for us to support those affected by cancer without support from local businesses.”
“Our research indicates that the number of people living with cancer will double over the next 20 years, and this will make supporting those affected by cancer an even taller order. We’re just delighted that the hotel has got on board.”
The hotel will be putting on a series of events, including a pamper evening, a charity quiz night and a World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, before the grand finale: a ball at the hotel. In addition, the hotel will be adding a discretionary £1 to each room booking.
