Organisers of a charity cycling event are making their final push for people to sign up as they hope to get even more riders to the start line this time around.
Entries are already up compared with the same point last year for the second Cycle Together Sandringham, which will start and finish at the Park House Hotel next Sunday, July 13.
And, with most participants choosing to take part in the final few weeks before the event, officials say they are confident that they will top last year’s entry of more than 500 people.
Last year’s inaugural Cycle Together raised more than £18,000 for the hotel, which provides respite breaks for disabled people and their carers.
Park House fundraiser Phil Davies said: “A major project paid for by Cycle Together was tinting the conservatory roof, reducing the glare and the heat in the area where guests most like to congregate.
“There have also been substantial improvements to the grounds, especially in the new Sensory Garden at the rear of the hotel.”
More than 200 people, around 50 more than at the same point last year, have already signed up to take part in the 2014 ride, which offers routes of 10, 20, 50 and 100 miles, with feeding stations along the route.
Entries can be made online at www.lcdisability.com/cycletogether, or by texting the word CYCLE to 80878 to be sent an entry form.
Riders will also be able to register on the day if they arrive at the hotel before 8am.
