Cafe culture could be coming to Lynn’s Saturday Market Place if a new application gets the green light.
West Norfolk Council has submitted a planning application to allow outdoor seating to be placed on the pavements in the square.
Saturday Market Place and Lynn Town Hall could be getting a £3 million makeover.
The Heritage Lottery Fund is due to make a decision on an application to fund the town hall section of the improvements in June.
The Saturday Market Place plans, which will cost £500,000, includes wider pavements and a one-way system. Plans for the town hall include a resource area, “Stories of Lynn” exhibition and a four year plan of activities.
The latest planning application focuses on allowing the council along with pubs and restaurants in the area to have outdoor seating.
The application states that all furniture, including seats, tables, parasols and other decorative items would need to be licensed by the borough council.
