This year’s Downham Festival looks set to be a fun packed week.
Clubs and societies from across the town will be supporting the event which runs between Sunday, May 25, and Saturday, May 31.
The festival will kick off on Sunday, May 25, with the raising of the flag at St Edmund’s Church at 10am and followed by a French cafe in the town hall at noon and a dog show at the Howdale at 1pm.
Monday, May 26, will include the carnival and fun fair at the Howdale and the day will be finished off with a swing orchestra in the town hall from 7pm.
The church tower will be open to the public from 10am to 3pm on Tuesday, May 27, and again on Friday, May 30.
On Wednesday, May 28, the town hall will be hosting a series of events.
A cake-cutting ceremony will be held from 10am to noon, followed by a bridge club session from 1pm to 5pm and a meeting of the Women’s Institute at 7pm.
Friday, May 30, will be another busy day at the hall with a coffee morning at 8am to noon and a disco from 7pm.
The festivities will end on Saturday, May 31, with a coffee morning from 8am to noon and the flag lowering.
