Prince George’s relationship with West Norfolk will begin when he is just two months old, when he is expected to attend a society wedding in Gayton in September.
The young prince will accompany his parents to the wedding of James Meade, 30, and Lady Laura Marsham, 29, daughter of the Earl of Romney, at a church near the bride’s family home of Gayton Hall, where the reception will be held.
Mr Meade is a close friend of the Duke and delivered one of the joint ‘best men’s speeches’ at the royal couple’s wedding.
The Cambridge’s will make Anmer Hall on the Sandringham estate their country retreat and work is underway to make alterations to the 10-bedroomed Georgian mansion. This includes the creation of a new garden room built onto the existing kitchen, and the conversion of a wood store into accommodation, possibly for the family’s police guards.
Prince Philip has yet to meet his grandson as he is still at Sandringham recuperating from abdominal surgery. He is expected to travel to Balmoral in the next two weeks.
