A teenage girl remains stable in hospital after being rescued from a burning building by firefighters.

She suffered serious injuries after being trapped in an upstairs compartment of a mid terraced house in Church Lanes, Fakenham, by flames on Tuesday.

Firefighters tackled the flames as they made their way up the stairs to rescue the girl.

Station manager Phil Berry praised the crews for their actions and added: “Our hopes and wishes are with the girl and we wish her a speedy recovery.

“The crew’s actions when they got there were very prompt as they were able to plan and knew what they were going to.”

The causes of the blaze are being investigated but police say it is not suspicious. Picture: PETER BIRD MLNF14PB01009
