People are being encouraged to make sure their electric blankets are safe and ready to be used this winter by booking an appointment at a testing session in Swaffham.
Norfolk County Council trading standards officials will be checking the devices during an event at the Plowright Medical Centre in Jack Boddy Way on Monday, October 14 between 2 and 5pm.
The event is one of seven being held across the county in a bid to allow hundreds of residents to make sure that their blankets are safe to be used over the coming months.
Dan Roper, the county council’s cabinet member for trading standards, said: “The aim of the roadshow is to highlight the potential issues that electric blankets can develop over time and to provide an opportunity for people to get their blankets checked.
“There is always a great deal of interest in the events so we strongly recommend that people book their appointment as soon as possible.”
Appointments to the test session must be booked in advance by phoning Norfolk County Council on 0344 8008020.
