A top winning race horse is making his new home at the Royal Stud at Sandringham.
The Queen has bought Triple Group One winner, Al Kazeem.
The five-year-old is the first stallion to be bought by the stud for some time and he will stand alongside 20-year-old Royal Applause.
Bloodstock and racing advisor John Warren said: “The Queen is thrilled to have acquired such an important high-class stallion for the Royal Studs.
“Al Kazeem is an outstanding individual and being by Dubawi out of Darshaan mare he should be extremely appealing to breeders.”
He has earned early £962,000 in prize money and has only been off the podium twice in his 15 career starts.
This year he recorded one of the fastest times in Royal Ascot’s history. He has also won the Coral Eclipse and Tattersalls Gold Cup.
Former trainer Roger Charlton said: “He is the most fabulous looker and has always been an extremely tough racehorse.”
