A special dedication service will be held at Swaffham’s parish church this weekend to celebrate the success of a two-year appeal to fund renovations and improvements to the site.
The event at the St Peter and St Paul Church, which starts at 6pm this Sunday, is designed to thank everyone who supported the campaign, which ended last year, and raised funds for repairs and new facilities.
The work included essential repairs to the church’s heating system, as well as the installation of eight new windows and the development of a car park for visitors and staff.
Swaffham’s former MP, Baroness Shephard of Northwold, who was the appeal’s president, is expected to attend the service, along with the town’s mayor, Shirley Matthews, who served as the campaign’s chairman.
They will be joined by other members of the appeal committee and many local residents who donated during the campaign.
The service will be led by the Archdeacon of Lynn, the Ven John Ashe.
Everyone is welcome to attend the service and refreshments will be available afterwards.
