A village pre-school held its annual nativity performance on Friday. The Watlington Pre-School hosted a modern version of the traditional nativity play, including singing, dancing and even an appearance from Father Christmas.

The performance, which took place in the village hall last Friday, included the 40 children on stage as angels, shepherds, snowflakes, and other characters to entertain over 100 parents and grandparents.

The script, which was based on the well-known seasonal poem The Night Before Christmas, was written by the pre-school’s deputy manager, Kanita Smith.

She said: “The children have worked very hard over the past weeks learning their words, songs and dances, and they performed very well on the day.”

Home made refreshments were sold and raised around £50 for the group’s funds.

Kanita would like to thank everyone who got involved backstage, as well as all of the parents and grandparents of the children for supporting them through the show.
