The body of a man was found in Snettisham Woods yesterday (Sunday, February 3).

Police say that formal identification has not yet taken place but it is thought to be the body of 48-year-old Andrew Simpson, who went missing in January.

Leziate man Mr Simpson has not been seen since Thursday, January 24 but his Vauxhall Astra van as discovered on Beach Road in Snettisham on Sunday, January 27.

Police officers along with Norfolk Fire and Rescue and Norfolk Lowland Search and Rescue have been scouring Snettisham over the past week.

It was during the last search that the body was found.

A post mortem will take place shortly, although there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and it has now been referred to the coroner.
