A man has appeared in court accused of a £750,000 insurance fraud.

Samuel Morris, 42, of Common Lane, Southery, entered no plea during a brief hearing at the Lynn magistrates court yesterday, Wednesday February 26.

Morris, who wore dark glasses throughout the hearing following recent laser eye surgery, is accused of making an exaggerated claim of limitations arising from an illness in order to secure the money between March and September of last year.

Yvonne Neill, prosecuting, said the case could only be dealt with by a crown court because of the sum of money involved. Morris’ defence solicitor made no representations.

The case was adjourned for a preliminary hearing at Norwich Crown Court on July 9. Morris was bailed until that date.
