Cubs from the 7th King’s Lynn pack spent their usual weekly meeting of 90 minutes at Sainsbury’s supermarket on the Hardwick Estate collecting for the food bank and were astounded to collect an amazing amount of donations thanks to the generosity of shoppers. The Lynn food bank was in particular need of long life milk and sugar and many shoppers donated cases of milk and numerous bags of sugar as well as many other basic food items. This was done as part of the Cubs’ work towards the carrying out good turns for someone outside of the pack element of their Promise Challenge and follows the collecting that they have been doing at their HQ and a visit from Sue Metcalf of King’s Lynn Foodbank.
Kelly Bowen, assistant Cub Scout leader, said: “The response from shoppers was staggering. The pack would like to thank both Sainsbury’s and King’s Lynn Foodbank for their support.” Picture: SUPPLIED
