Preparations for Saturday’s grand fireworks display at Fakenham Racecourse are well under way.
Members of the town’s Chamber of Trade, Lions Club and Kick Start Fakenham, along with North Norfolk Radio, are working to make sure the event is as spectacular as ever.
The gates open at 5pm and the usual selection of food and fairground attractions to enjoy in the build-up to the event.
The display itself begins at 6.30pm.
Entry to the event costs £16 per car (with a maximum of five persons per car) or if you choose to arrive on foot, £5 per person.
As always the money raised will go towards supporting a number of local good causes.
Advance tickets are also available, at a reduced cost of £13 per car (again, with maximum of five persons) from a number of shops in Fakenham and the surrounding area, including Lawnwise and Leisure, The Flower Room (Guist), Fakenham Racecourse, Burnham Motors, Melton Co-op, Bale Filling Station, Corder’s Budgens, Martins of Wells and Mileham Post Office.
The event comes at an opportune time for the Chamber of Trade, for after a few months with an uncertain future, it can report that it is rapidly regaining momentum.
With Andrea Manning from The Flower Room (Guist) as acting president, and with a number of new committee members, the Chamber has fresh ideas and new-found energy.
The Chamber is very grateful to the previous president, Brett Corder, for the time and dedication he gave in recent years, and hopes that in the months ahead membership will continue to increase and that they will be able to bring a number of ideas and plans to fruition.
