Dramatic lessons in beating bullies were given to junior school youngsters in workshops held at the Nicholas Hamond Academy in Swaffham.
To mark anti-bullying week, drama students at the academy organised en event to allay Year six pupils’ concerns about their transition to high school next September.
Activities included a video about cyber-bullying. A karate master class was given by academy student Iain Paterson showing how marital arts can improve self-confidence.
On their return to the town’s junior school, pupils took part in a competition to produce poems and posters reflecting what they had learnt.
Next week, academy students will have to chance to see Smash, a play with a hard-hitting road safety message. The drama will be performed by Norwich City College students supported by Norfolk County Council’s road safety team.

Issues tackled will include how peer pressure can lead to dangerous situations and how mobile phones can be a dangerous distraction.
