Dozens of Swaffham’s elderly residents enjoyed a traditional afternoon tea thanks to the generosity of town community groups and businesses.
More than 50 people gathered for afternoon tea, cakes and strawberries and cream at the Maltings residential home, in Cley Road, on Sunday afternoon.
The event was organised by the Swaffham Rotary Club community team and club president John Wallace led the team of members and volunteers in serving food and drinks to the guests.
Maltings staff prepared the food, much of which was donated by the town’s recently opened Tesco store, while many guests were brought to the venue by volunteers from the town’s community transport service.
And pianist Gill Dobbs led guests in a singsong of numbers from the 1940s and 1950s.
