Abigail Whiting was in winning form as West Norfolk Swimming Club held its annual Open Meet at St James Pool.

Whiting’s impressive display earned her the top girl trophy while Robert Addis and Nathan Wells also dominated their respective age groups.

Addis shared the top boy award with Jay Carter from Mildenhall and Harry Pearce of Huntingdon after an excellent display.

Clubs from Diss, Hunstanton, Huntingdon, March, Mildenhall and UEA Norwich attended the popular event and West Norfolk swimmers were again in fine form.

Other impressive swims came from Luke Bryan, Matthew Dobing, Alex Florance, Jacob Isle, Ryan Sykes, Harry Thompson and Joseph Wells.

Seasoned campaigner Alex Murray switched on the speed to win the 15 and over 25m sprint and the 50m freestyle.

In the girls’ events, there were again many excellent swims with Roxanne Uys dominating her age group with three wins while Ella Farnsworth, Annabel Heywood, Rachel Johnson, Mollie Lee, Rosie Muspratt and Jenny Read were also in fine form.

The overall top visiting club award went to Huntingdon, as it has done for many years.
