Two Mayors planted the ‘Hunstanton Mighty Oak’ at the Community Centre on Saturday to celebrate the inclusion of field’s inclusion as a Field in Trust, protecting this valuable open space for 999 years.

Sponsored by Orchard Warden Pat Richardson and his wife Lesley, the oak tree stands every chance of surviving for the 999 years as there are 1,000 year old specimens alive today.

There were also 14 apple trees, four pear trees, two cherry, two plum and one almond planted in the Henry Le Strange Community Orchard at the Community Field.

It brings the total number of fruit trees in the Community Orchard to 100. .
