Upgrade plan revealed for King’s Lynn post office

Lynn’s post office at WH Smith’s in Norfolk Street is to get a makeover next month to create a new main-style branch.

The refurbished branch will have two open-plan counters and two modern screened positions. Customers will benefit from the addition of a dedicated financial services room to allow private consultations.

Opening hours at the branch will remain as Monday to Saturday 9am to 5.30pm and 10am to 2pm on Sundays.

The post office will remain open while the modernisation takes place between Monday 23 June and Saturday 28 June.

Post Office senior account manager John Dutton said: “We understand how important Post Office services are to the people of King’s Lynn and we are confident this new modern service will meet the needs of the community and secure services.”

On Tuesday, the Lynn News reported that Fairstead and Heacham sub-post offices are be upgraded, with far longer opening tied to retail hours.
