VIDEO: Police appeal for help on A47 death inquiry

The man leading the investigation into why a man and woman died on the A47 on Sunday is appealing for help.

Det Chief Insp Paul Durham and his team are trying piecing together the final hours before the man was seen by witnesses to push the woman into the Lynn-bound carriageway at 2.15pm. They were both hit by a silver Kia at Mill Road Bridge between Walton Highway and Terrington St John.

Today The man has been named as Tadas Zaleskas, 26, and the woman is believed to be Nonita Karajevaite, 24.

Both Tadas and Nonita, an engaged couple originally from Lithuania, lived at an address in Church Road, Emneth.

The pair were seen by motorists walking barefoot along the A47 before stopping at Worzals Farm Shop to ask staff to “call police”.

Tadas was a factory worker in March, and Nonita, a part-time beautician, was also employed as a factory worker in Wisbech.

Their families have been informed and are being supported by police.
