Between Saturday night and Sunday morning a 12-inch PVC water main burst in Hunstanton, leaving residents in the central area of the town with little or no water in the tap, while outside the rain was coming down in torrents.
Locating the problem at the junction of the A149 and Downs Road near Smithdon School, workmen were on site for most of the day.
Dave Loades said: “We were called out in the early hours of the morning and found that the twelve inch PVC main had cracked on the underside.
“Now we are replacing a six-metre length of pipe to get the water flowing again.”
The picture shows Bob Mansfield in the digger and Dave Loades in the trench.
