Borough Mayor Geoffrey Wareham cuts the ribbon with Franchisee Martin Cuthbert to officially open the new West Lynn McDonalds restaurant on the site of the former Little Chef.

A new McDonald’s restaurant which opened at West Lynn on Wednesday has reported a busy start.

Borough Mayor Geoffrey Wareham joined franchisee Martin Cuthbert to cut the ribbon and welcome customers to the fast-food chain.

Business manager Paul Hilton said: “It’s going really well. Sales have built day on day and we’re seeing particularly busy breakfast sales.”

The franchise employs 76 staff and is open 24 hours a day.

Mr Hilton said: “I would like to thank the employees for their hard work in helping set up the restaurant, and the Mayor for coming to open it. We look forward to trading in the area and it’s good we have been able to give these job opportunities.”
