He is someone who up until now has not kept the hairdressers and barbers of West Norfolk in too many funds over his lifetime.
But Jake Burgess, of Whitehall Drive, West Lynn, has made up for that with his latest cut.
But it is all for a good cause as it has raised £400 for MacMillan Cancer Support through sponsorship of his head shave.
The event took place at the end of last month at the West Lynn Sports and Social Club.
Jake, 17, a motorsport engineering student at the College of West Anglia and a former pupil of St Clements High, said he chose Macmillan Cancer Support because “a close family friend has been suffering badly and they have been supporting him”.
He said he had been growing his hair since he was about 11. Being bald had taken a little bit of getting used to, he said.
“It felt different but I soon got used to it. I wore a hat at first but that didn’t last. Luckily my girlfriend says she likes it just as much,” he said.
His target had been to raised £300 so to raise £400 had been great, he said.
