Eight people from Lynn and West Norfolk were among those recognised for their generosity at a recent awards ceremony dedicated blood donors.
The blood donors were presented with crystal awards at the ceremony at Hinxton Hall, Cambridge. They had all donated 75 times with one of them, Gerald Cross, donating 100. Anyone aged between 17-65, weighing more than 50 kg (7st 12lbs) and in general good health could potentially start saving lives by becoming a blood donor. There is no upper age limit for donors who have donated in the last two years. While sessions cannot be held in every town and village there are regular opportunities for people to attend blood donor sessions across the county. To book an appointment call the Donor Line on 0300 123 23 23 or visit www.blood.co.uk.
