West Norfolk’s Supt Dennis Lacey is appealing for help in clamping down on raids on Downham gardens. He says that thefts of tools and garden ornaments “continues to blight” the Downham area .

Supt Lacey states: “The offences appear to be opportunist with persons stopping at the roadside and stealing whatever is in the front garden from ornaments to gardening tools and solar lights.

“We have very little information as to who is responsible or where these items are being sold. If you see any suspicious vehicles in your villages please report them to the police via the 101 number.”
