Officials at the Magpie Centre, home of West Norfolk Riding for the Disabled Association, were delighted with the response to their Open Day at Wallington Hall.

Despite a damp start, as the event opened the skies cleared and visitors enjoyed a carriage driving demonstration, dressage display, carriage drives and pony rides, plus a Musical Ride performed by a group of young RDA riders.

The barbecue was big success, as were the tombola and a selection of games, enjoyed by around 150 visitors.

Steve Chesney-Beales, chair of WNRDA, said: “This was our best Open Day ever, demonstrating excellent teamwork by staff, volunteers, riders and horses.

“We were thrilled to welcome a record number of visitors, amongst whom we have gained new riders and new volunteers. In addition, we raised more than £750 towards the upkeep of our loyal horses and ponies. All in all a brilliant day.”
