West Norfolk Health Trainer Service is hosting a number of events aimed at making 2014 a year of healthy lifestyle changes for people.

The events provide an opportunity to find out how to choose health goals and get the support needed to achieve them.

Health trainers work on a one-to-one basis so people make positive lifestyle changes, such as taking more exercise, eating healthily, stopping smoking or drinking less.

Vicky Mitchell, Health Trainer coordinator for West Norfolk, said: “The Health Trainer Service is free and aimed at anyone over the age of 16 who is seeking help to achieve a healthy lifestyle change.

“These events are a great opportunity to find out more about the support on offer and see if signing up with the service could give you the help you need to succeed.”

For those who go on to sign up to the service, the Health Trainers can arrange six
confidential meetings on a one-to-one basis and refer people to relevant specialist services or groups to help them succeed.

Events will be held at: Today – Swaffham Community Centre, 9.30am-12pm; Thursday – Dersingham Library, 10am-5pm; Thursday – Community Room, Tesco Hardwick, Lynn, 1pm-4pm; Tuesday, January 28 – RAF Marham 10am-2pm; Thursday, January 30 – Community Room, Tesco Hardwick, Lynn, 1pm-4pm.
