A West Winch man has gone beyond decking the halls after covering his lawn and house in decorations to give a bit of Christmas cheer to village youngsters.
Children’s faces light up when they see the fantastic display Len Tracey has set up outside his home in Hall Lane.
What started off with a simple row of bright illuminations has grown into thousands of bulbs, with candy canes, a Snowman and Christmas presents.
Some villagers have been known to take a trip around to Hall Lane to admire the lights.
Mr Tracey said: “Lots of children in the village love it and we get Christmas cards from them.
“It is great when you see people coming to look at it and you hear them talking.”
Mr Tracey usually begins to prepare for his decorations in September by checking the lights and usually begins to assemble the display in November.
He said: “I never sit down and work out how much it costs as it would scare me.”
