Excited villagers gathered outside Gayton’s village church on Saturday for a special wedding with two royal princes on the guest list.
Prince William and Prince Harry attended the marriage of Lady Laura Marsham, the daughter of the Earl of Romney, of Gayton Hall, and James Meade, the son of former three-day event champion Richard Meade.
Also among the guests was Pippa Middleton, the sister of the Duchess of Cambridge.
It had been hoped that the Duchess and baby Prince George would also attend the wedding but they are believed to have stayed in London.
The priest in charge of St Nicholas’ Church, the Rev Jane Holmes, assisted the Bishop of Lynn, the Rt Rev Jonathan Meyrick, who officiated at the ceremony.
She said: “It was a wonderful service and a very happy occasion. Groups of villagers were there to support the couple and cheer them as they came out.”
