A woman was arrested but later released without charge following reports of a stabbing in Gayton at the weekend.

Police were called to Springvale just after 9.30pm on Saturday, June 21, following reports that a man had been attacked with a knife.

Officers attended the scene and found a male, aged in his 20s, with what was described as a “superficial injury”.

He was treated by paramedics from the East of England Ambulance Service at the scene but did not need to go to hospital.

A female, aged in her 20s, was arrested and taken to Lynn Police Investigation Centre to be interviewed.

A police spokesman said she was later released and no further action will be taken.

A neighbour, who did not want to be named, believed the incident was domestic related.

She said: “We heard that a girl had stabbed her boyfriend. It’s quite upsetting for this to happen.”
