Work begins today to carry out essential maintenance work on Vong Lane. This will involve reconstruction of the southern footway and installation of additional surface water drainage near Holly Meadows School.

It is anticipated that these works will take approximately eight weeks to complete.

Due to the construction processes involved and to maintain a safe working environment and protect the public it will be necessary to close Vong Lane for the majority of the works. The closure will be in force 24hrs per day, from 28 July to 3 September, with the remaining works carried out under localised traffic management. The closure has been programmed for this period in an attempt to minimise disruption by carrying out work in the school holidays.

A signed diversion route will be in place during the closure and access to properties within the works will be maintained at all times. The hourly Norfolk Green bus service will be permitted through the works and emergency services will be informed of the closure, so that alternative arrangements can be made. Norfolk County Council recognises that the closure of Vong Lane may cause some disruption and inconvenience. The County Council apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.

The work which will cost £41,200 will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Environment, Transport and Development Department and their contractors.
