A team of junior footballers crossed the charitable finish line when they handed over the money they raised by taking part in this year’s Mini GEAR fun run.

Members of the Walpole Youth football club took part in the 1.2 mile race in May in aid of the Macmillan care and treatment centre at Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in support of Alec Wright, the father of under 9 player James, who has been treated for cancer there.

The club’s gruelling efforts helped to raise £1,045.06 in sponsorship for the centre, which the team presented to staff last Friday.
