Middleton Hall Golf Club has boosted the fight against cancer after a successful year of fundraising.

Each year the club’s seniors’ captain chooses a charity, and the 2013 captain Brian Clapham picked Cancer Research UK. A number of fundraising events and activities were held throughout last year to raise £650 for the cause.

Mr Clapham said: “A few people in my family have had cancer and friends too. Hopefully in the future they will find a cure.”

The 2014 seniors’ captain is John Burdett, whose chosen charity is the Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House.
