Norfolk Green buses have been diverted around Cley-next-the-Sea following the death of four people in a US Air Force helicopter crash on the marshes.

A Norfolk Green spokesman said: “We were saddened to hear the news that the four crew of a US Air Force helicopter lost their lives in a crash at Cley Marshland last night.

“Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of the crew at this tragic time.”

The spokesman added: “The road will be closed and our buses will be diverted at Cley along Holt Road to Newgate and then Wood Lane, coming out at Kelling Primary School and then continuing the normal route to Sheringham where the service will terminate due to the extra time taken for the diversion.

“We are extremely grateful to Sanders and Konect who have kindly agreed to accept our tickets between Sheringham and Cromer while the road is closed.”
