A cloud hangs over the future of a Lynn High Street store and the jobs of its six employees after administrators were called in.
All of national camera retailer Jessops’ 192 stores and the jobs of its 2,000 staff are now in jeopardy including those in Lynn.
Rob Hunt, joint administrator and partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), said: “In the current climate it is inevitable that there will be store closures.”
PwC is trying to find a buyer for the firm and Jessops’ stores were still open yesterday though the firm was not honouring customer vouchers or allowing the return of goods.
A member of staff at the Lynn store did not wish to comment.
Wendy Turner, of Smeeth Road, Marshland St James, was told she was not able to use a £20 voucher, which she had got after trading in her Tesco points.
She said: “I’m hoping if I contact Tesco they might be able to help.
“I only received the vouchers yesterday and it said they were valid until July then I heard what had happened on the news.”
