Whether married, widowed, single, or just one bunch of petrol station flowers away from packing your bags, Valentine’s Day can be a total drag.
Yet there is one love which unites us all – the love of a good book and the memorable lyrics of songs.
Lynn Library pulled out all of the stops to prove that romance isn’t dead.
West Norfolk’s great romantics took part in the event, which was part of the library’s
reading aloud sessions, but linked in to the In Good Company county-wide promotion against loneliness. Participants read classic romantic poetry and also listened to song lyrics.
Librarian Linda Tree, pictured back centre with event participants, said: “We were pleased how it went. It was quite poignant at times as people talked about husbands or partners who were no longer with them.”
