Although later this month will mark the 400th year since William Shakespeare’s death, the greatest writer of the English language remains very much alive in West Norfolk’s libraries.

On Monday, Lynn Library held a Big Read promotion – a series of activities encouraging adults to pick up a book, get reading and share the experience with others.

Participants were invited to take a fresh new look at the Bard with a ‘Shakespeare Re-written’ selection of modern titles inspired by his universally popular dramas, but given a new twist by their authors. The 20 books, ranging from romances, histories, tragedies and comedies were handpicked by librarians. Pictured above, from left, are: Linda Tree, community librarian, and Dinah Dent. mlnf16af03040
